  • In 2025, Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas returned to its in-person Builders of Justice  - Progressive Dinner and Awards Program! 

    Currently, the 2026 Event Committee is in the process of planning this year's event which will take place in early October. The date is to be determined.  We are looking forward to celebrating those who are making a difference in our community. 

    As the only provider of free civil legal aid in Collin County, Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas has been helping low-income individuals and families in North Texas for 75 years. In 2025, our McKinney office received applications from more than 2,000 individuals and families who needed help with critical legal issues, ranging from wrongful evictions and foreclosures to child custody and protection from domestic violence. 

    Help us continue this vital work. 
    Your gift ensures our nonprofit organization's ability to continue providing free civil legal assistance to disadvantaged Collin County residents, helping them receive the critical legal services they need.                                                                                                                
                                                                                

     

    Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, Inc. is funded in part by the Legal Services Corporation (“LSC”). As a condition of the funding it receives from LSC, it is restricted in certain activities in all of its legal work—including work supported by other funding sources.  Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas Inc. may not expend any funds for any activity prohibited by the Legal Services Corporation Act, 42 U.S.C. 2996 et seq. or by Public Law 104-134. Public Law 104-234 §504(d) requires that notice of these restrictions be given to all funders and contributors to programs funded by LSC.
