  • This year, Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas is pleased to announce that our Builders of Justice Reception and Awards program will be held in-person at Gather, a downtown McKinney venue, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 19. To help make our annual event a success, we are asking for your help.

As the only provider of free civil legal aid in Collin County, we continue to build community awareness of the legal help that we have provided to low-income people in North Texas for more than 70 years.  Last year alone, more than 2,000 families and individuals sought help from the attorneys and support staff in our McKinney office with issues including wrongful eviction and foreclosure, child custody and support, and protection from domestic violence.

Please consider making a gift to help support our organization's ability to continue providing free civil legal aid to disadvantaged Collin County residents.

Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, Inc. is funded in part by the Legal Services Corporation (“LSC”). As a condition of the funding it receives from LSC, it is restricted in certain activities in all of its legal work—including work supported by other funding sources.  Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas Inc. may not expend any funds for any activity prohibited by the Legal Services Corporation Act, 42 U.S.C. 2996 et seq. or by Public Law 104-134. Public Law 104-234 §504(d) requires that notice of these restrictions be given to all funders and contributors to programs funded by LSC.
